Author Topic: Can't believe I blew my new controller and electric motor...  (Read 331 times)

Got the eRevo done last night and when trying to program it, I screwed up and fried both my controller and motor. MGM controller and Neu motor...

I'm not the most patient person (as if ya'll can't tell) and I've been dying to get it on the road but now I'll be starting over AGAIN.

At least I've got the stampede in the meantime.

Just venting...

Wow, that hurts  :|

Do you know what caused it? Have you talked to RCM Mike about it yet?
Are you sure you cooked both?

Remember, sometimes you can slow down a little and still go faster. Be sure to check things with Mark (mkrusedc). He should respond fairly quickly at Traxxas all day long most days.

I sent the stuff back to Mike, he's gonna take a look at it but I'm afraid it's not good.

I'm pretty sure both are blown. The ESC smoked and then the motor sounded like it had marbles in it. Then there were none....

We'll see what happens.

I feel kind of bad about it, I suppose it was partially my fault. Mark took some of what I said about programing literally and it was the wrong advice in this case. I should have kept my mouth shut about something I didn't have any personal experience with.

Sorry Mark.

Dude,

You got nothing to apologize for. I'm a big boy, I'm capable of reading. Live and learn. I hold nothing against you at all.

Still love your advice.

Well, I'm glad you feel that way Mark. This was the last thing I wanted for you, I wanted to see your Revo fly. Which I believe it still will when we get everything worked out. Did you hear from Mike yet?

I heard back from Mike. The motor is good, the controller is junk. I'm waiting to see where we go from there.

I'm sure he'll take care of it. It's the time I hate.

Well at least things are sounding somewhat positive.

Just the fact that the motor is good has to count for something.
