They're Skating Rink just beside my house.... The lady that owns it has put out on the sign a few months back R/C racing and practice. So of course I went to see the R/C stuff. Well turns out there was no R/C cars there. I ask her where the R/C where. She said the guys keep asking her about runnig there cars, but never show up! So she has quit putting on the sign. I was thinking if we plan a day up my way for Crawling, before we go to a crawling place, you fellas could bring your TC. I can talk to the lady... I'm sure she will let everyone run! It's just a thought!!!!!!

It is just above Shelby! About 55min to hour from Charlotte! I used to work in Charlotte and it took me about that long to drive it!

It is wood with a finish on it! Just about like a hard wood floor! Hmmm. I can't believe I don't own a TC. It is just right beside my house!

Ohhhh.. do you mean that she would open the rink for us to run on? I thought you meant the parking lot outside. If it is the rink, that just might be worth a visit!

Ya, I mean she would open the Rink a few hours early just for us. But they do open in the afternoon so it would be for a few hrs. before lunch or so. I will have to ask. She also said, "she would hold races if there was enough intrest, but she never got anyone to show. She said peeps called her all the time about wanting to run the cars... So she posted out front on the sign, but no cars ever would show , so she quit posting it on the sign.

Not that I have anything other than the rc18 thats electric race worthy, but I was wondering the same thing. Might have to make it a rather larger track, and alot of drifting.

I know she would never go for this.. but I used to race slick track go karts on a similar surface (polished concrete).. when the track would get dry meaning sticky they would put baby power down on it and it would be like ice. On the flip side when it was too slick WD-40 would be put down and after a lap or 2 they would stick like glue..

Ya, I'm sure she would never go for it! Peeps would be skating later that day. I know if I would be out there skating I would hate to hit baby powders then a sticky/ grip spot! Ouch!! I've been skating at this place ever since I was 5yrs old! I've hit wood hard several times! It feels as hard as concrete!!

I used to play roller hockey on a wooden surface. If it's been coated recently it's very sticky - I bet rubber tires would hold real well.

Rubber tires should be your best bet. That what all the skates wheels mainly made of a plastic rubber. I ask the lady when she first started advertising the R/C cars on the sign, what tires can they run. She said rubber I guess. said, I was thinking foam. She said the buffer should remove the marks just like it does on the skate wheels! My thoughts are bring rubber and foam. This way if she see a "black groove" starting to form and says hey you're killing my floor, all ya have to do is switch tires. If the floor is clean it should stick very nicely!
