As some of you know, I'm building a Savage X SS, well, I finally got it far enough along to post a few pics. I'm about 3/4s of the way there and I'll post more about everything when I'm finished. I'm also doing a stop motion movie of the entire build, I hope it comes out cool. Anyway, here are a few to get going.

The shocks, to me, seem to one of a couple of weak links, even though everyone recommends staying with those or going to LST shocks over aluminum replacements. Apparently they all leak except the stockers (or the monster sized LST shocks). I'll probably go with the Innovative RC LST style shocks and mounts to beef up that system. Those giant LST shocks look cool too.  Cheesy The other big one being the steering bell crank system. It's all plastic and sloppy even though I replaced to stock bushings with bearings. There are a couple of aluminum set-ups available and I'll probably swap out eventually.

Other than that, it seems like a pretty tough truck, I'll know soon. I'll have it together in another week or so. More pics to come.

I finished up the build this afternoon with the exception of the body. I'm really happy with the way it came out, although there are a few more mods I'm going to do right away, mostly the stuff I talked about above. Here are a few updated pics:

I've been wondering what came of the Savage, Cajun. I was hoping to see it this past weekend, those pictures make it look REAL nice. Any progress?

That's cool to hear, I bought it because I had heard it was a tough truck. The truck itself is finished except for painting the body.
