Well I think the term used to describe a "minor" but annoying problem that I have with my VXL Rustler is called "Push Truck Syndrome". Not a huge deal when bashing, but if it happens in a race.....

I have not heard of anyone with this problem at the Traxxas site. But I have found that there are some Novak "equipped" truck's that experience this.

Once the truck stop's I have to go give it a little push before it takes off under full power again. I did reprogram my system but the problem still exists. I also thought it could be a LVC issue but it happens with fully charged NiMH packs, or close to fully charged.

I have spoke with a technician at Traxxas and will probably be sending my Velineon esc back to them for the once over.

I've seen it posted a few times over the last 6 months or so with the VXLs. Usually it requires the esc and motor to go back - I believe it's a rotor problem with the motor being non-sensored. The esc can't detect the rotor position, and when you give it a nudge it registers somehow.. not sure exactly how the sensorless motor/esc communications work but that's what I've heard anyway.

Good news is that from what I've read, Traxxas is very prompt about getting the work done and sending it back on it's way. I need to send mine in sometime too, one of the bullet plugs on the ESC has pulled out. I was able to get it seated but it really should be soldered.. I just hate to do without it for a week or two.

Thanks Chris, that helps even more. The tech did not mention sending the motor back...doofus  :? But I will call them one more time and plan to package them together.

I'm sure Traxxas will take care of this issue. They are generally top-notch when it come's to these sort of things.

I figured I may have missed it somewhere at the Traxxas forums as I tend not to visit the Rustler section as much as other's.

Yeah it might be something that is in the ESC only, so they don't need the motor too. But if you have the option, I would send it all back just in case, since the motor without an ESC is useless anyway. And that way if they have to replace it, maybe you can get a whole new setup. Cool
