Mamba 25 connection wires - question

Are those just slip on connectors under that shrink wrap - this is the wires between the ESC and motor. I was going to cut them out and directly solder the ESC to the motor to remove all that excess, but I'm not familiar with Mambas. I wanted to be sure that wasn't something else in there that is required.

Nothing special in there, just bullet connectors. They do use good connectors so you really don't gain much from a direct solder, but lots of people do go direct, especially the racers. Those guys are looking for every amp they can get. I left my connectors on just for ease of disassembly for cleaning, etc.

One other thing, the Mamba switches are notorious for breaking, so most people turn them on and leave them on. Just make sure you're radio is on when you plug in the battery and you're golden.

Yeah, everything counts on these little things. I was worried more about the resistance across the connections though really.. the ESC wires are pretty small for 11.1v and they get hot when running hard. Actually the whole thing gets really hot, I'm going to gear it down a bit. I have no doubt this thing will do 60, I've had it to just above 3/4 throttle and it was a blur.

It is such a neglible thing too lose the connecotrs in what little resistance they do have and like Cajun said it is easier when needed to remove the motor.  They are actually better then the ones on the mamba maxes, if it was those then yes I would say remove them, they s@#*!
Speaking of broken switches yes they do break quite easily, especially with the 11.1v lipo you posess, they are way too much for the 18R, but they can be a blast!!!!![/img]
