What time do you guys meet up? I might be able to swing a short visit in the morning. Are you guys really running indoors? I thought it was in the parking lot.

Its at Monroe Collision Center Right Behind Motorama Classic Cars off Skyway Dr in Monroe.     Motorama used to be the Old Dale Jarrett Ford.

Mark has been as so kind to let us use his facility Sunday. We have about 12,000 Sq ft to work with. We have Marked off a road course (About the same size as the one we had at SPCC)on the floor indoors. Today we are taping it off and tonight/Tomorrow MArk is having one of his Buddies Paint it black just like the real thing..He is going to put some real fine sand in the paint for some added grip but not so much that it will eat tires.

So Sundat at 11am until Mark throws us out.

Im thinking now about one of those Robotronic Scalpels and drop my novak in it  "Oh my god did I just say that" Im sorry

Give me a call for maore details

Thanks

I'm going to look at getting some slicks for the ZX5 and see how it handles on road. I don't really have a better option for on road racing unless I want to take the VXL from the Stampede and put it back in the Rustler, but that was a bit of a pain.

There was a pretty good group of these running at TRD in Salisbury, but they are closing in two weeks. Anyone interested in going micro  Cool

Just to stir the pot a little.. here are some videos.

This one is a stock brushed motor, although he is running 6 cells where the stock chassis is 4 cell. Screaming fast!

Some racing.. not sure what motor/battery they are running. Skip ahead to about 3:00 to avoid the polka music

Aaaaahhhhh...non Traxxas banter that's not in code.

That kid in the second video was running laps twice as fast as the next guy!   I don't think my brain would work that fast anymore.

At that price for those I can be running for about $300 bucks. We are going to wait until we see how the new track holds up on Sunday.

I was thinking the same thing. They look super quick and agile stock, all you need is radio gear, ESC, and batteries. I have the ESC out of the ZX5 that should have no problems running that stock motor, if it will fit on that little chassis.

I went through the TRD thread over at CRC forums, and saw several people that were racing weekly said that they had about $400 invested total, and they were running brushless and upgraded other items too. Pretty cheap investment for something that looks really fun. Either that or we should all get something like this:
Mini Slider
$160 all inclusive, including 2.4ghz radio. Those should be fun on the slick floor Smiley

Maybe some Mini-T's and put out some makeshift jumps or something.. they are only like $85.
Mini T

Just something fun to goof off with until the weather warms up and we can go back outside.

Hmm can't get the UBB code to accept those urls, just copy and paste into your nav bar.

I'm sure we're going to have some nitro's there. Not sure how they're going to work on the track.

Guess we can try. It may end up being for electrics only but since we haven't tried it, we don't know how it'll work.

Bring it... worse thing that happens, we learn from it.

I ordered a Scalpel with a Novak Spy ESC and a micro servo. I'll pull the XXl rx out of the max and be good to go, whole order cost around $175. I'll look at brushless later. I have a 4200 6 pack with a bad cell, I figured I could try to salvage out 4 good cells for it. Hope to have it by mid week.

I hope my Nitro stuff works good in there.  At least for Sunday!!   Tongue   If I get smoked by a carpet car...  I'll probably end up with one next week.
