Well here is my 3rd attempt at painting lexan. I'm not too sure if i like it or not. I tried the window trim trick for the first time. As well as exterior pinstriping. Not sure about it just yet though. And the black shows up everything just like a 1:1. Dust, fingerprints, etc. It's got a nice reflection though:lol:

Pretty nice, huh?   That's pre-peel of course.

Wanna see some others that are finished product???

Well as you can see in this pic, I took my X-acto knife and freehand trimmed the outer edges of the window masking. Then just peel off the little ring around the windows and spray it your color of choice.

Just make sure to use a sharp blade. I imagine a dull blade would tend to grab the vinyl masking. I've also seen it done ALOT wider which I dont like.

I didnt do around the windshield b/c when I applied the masking it stretched a little when I was trying to get the curve just right. I had to use a strip of 3M masking tape for a fix so I didnt mess with it when it came to trimming it out.

Thanks Lee  Cheesy

Did you notice that your 200mm Shelby E-Stang thread was brought back up at Traxxas?

The next generation of guys coming thru Traxxas seem to like it very much too.   The thread is about a year old, huh?

What kind of advice do you need?

Here is a thread I posted at Traxxas of the 1st body I did. I took pics of it from clear right thru to the 3 color's I put on it.

No, it shouldnt be a hard line. What little raised area there may be doesnt show thru from the outside anyway.

Hmm, is flourescent yellow darker than white....maybe and I can see where you coming from. You dont want to mask the whole truck just to do your flames first.

I would probably mist an extra coat or 2 of white just to make sure the yellow doesnt show thru. I dont think it would unless you hold it up to a light....maybe.

Then spray your yellow color for flames and then back it up with white.

I guess if you were really worried about it you could back your white up with silver before you paint the flames. Then back the flames up with silver too.
