I like them, but I can't compare it to any other crawler motor. Mine tops out at around 8mph I'd say  When I go on trail crawls, it keeps pace with me walking at about 70% throttle. Full speed is about jogging, I'm sure I could out run it Wink

If you want torque and speed, probably look at one of those Cobalt motors.. they are $80 though.

Mamba might work, but two things I'd be worried about. 1 - Cogging. You'll be at low throttle a lot, if you get any cogging it will burn your esc in no time. 2 - Low end throttle control. You could program it in Castlelink to have a real low throttle curve from say 0-25%, but it would take some adjusting. You need to have a smooth curve at low throttle to work over some rocks.

have you checked out the sidewinder, wonder if it would work better seeing its smaller and lighter with the 55t

Nope, way too much. You need to find the lowest KV motor you can. I'm looking at an 850KV and hoping to find something even lower. Trying to tame a 4600kv motor that low will cause cogging and burn up everything.

The Sidewinder would work fine with a 55t brushed motor, the only difference in it and the Mamba Max is gthe size, the amperage rating (70a vs. 100a) and there's no direct Castle Link Port. You have to use the same link as the Mamba 25.

on my axial i run a 65 "v10" motor by integy, its a good motor my 55 was too fast.  One of my friends has a wk based toober with a novak 20.5 motor.  He likes it except for it doesn't hold as good as a brushed.  If i push my crawler the suspension flexes before it moves because of the motor hold.
