Great thread there, should whet your appetite and also clears up a few issues. Pay attention to post #435 on page 22, regarding adding a washer on the upper link mounts.
Here is another build thread, with some upgrades mentioned:

Thanks for the info Chris. I'm gonna read as much as I can find before I start the build. We also have our own resident expert in Tom. He's been in the crawler scene for years.

That's really up to you. You'll need a high turn brushed or a low kv brushless.

Kit is going together well, it's a great design. I decided to stop as I realized that I was missing a pair of outdrive shafts.. I was going to upgrade those from the start and only ordered one pair somehow. I hope Hobbytown has them in stock.. I'd hate to have to order.
Axle assemblies are completed, they are nearly identical to the Wheelie King axle setup. Bit of a better design on the control arms, this has much better steering throw. The CVDs are also seriously beefy, and the whole assembly is super smooth.
Getting excited!

That's cool to hear. From everything I've read, it's suppose to be a really nice kit.

It almost looks like a truck
I'm having an issue with the front axle's angle and think I may need to redo the mount, but otherwise I expect it to be completed tonight.

No, I ordered the "stage 2 kit" from CKRC, which included bent rear links and some other items. That's what is taking me so long on this build - the instructions are horrible and the kit itself is only so-so. I've been having to make adjustments as I go, and had to backtrack a few times to get items fitting.
The front axle angle is an example - they provide longer front upper links and relocate the lower links to stretch it out and get the links inboard. I drilled the upper link mount holes where indicated, but the front axle is swept back too much, so I may have to redo that mount.

move your uppers to the forward location on the chassis that will rotate your pinion up to about 4 degrees above level. Or make longer uppers if you like that location...you want your pinions to point to the tranny outputs or as close as possible to keep binding at articulation to a minimum...

What I have is the AX10 kit, same as anywhere. I also ordered a stage 2 kit which is just an option package that CKRC makes. The only item of note is the bent links, the rest is just the hardware to make the changes that are outlined in that guide that is the second link on the first post here.

Yeah, Jato driveshafts. I thought it would be nice if they worked, with the sealed joint and all, but they are a bit short and the plastic wrap ripped stretching them to fit. They seem to have plenty of length otherwise, so I'll keep them on there until they break or pop off. I also have some Stampede shafts to use when that happens.
The yokes are the metal Traxxas as well. Dang expensive for those little dudes but they should be bulletproof.
