It's turning into a fun little trail crawler. I cut grooves down the center of the front tires to give them a bit more flex, and put some weight inside the rims. A very noticable increase in stability and climbing there.

I took it out back, headed into the woods and crawled from one side to the other. Spent about two hours out there, really a fun time. I'm actually thinking about keeping this one as a scale trail truck and getting an AX10 for a serious crawler.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's really cool to see how it improves with each step, the results are easy to realize. There are a few areas right outside of my door that I've been hitting each day that I'm out. The first area of rocks (that was in the video) was impossible to get across with the truck out of the box. After the first round of changes I could get two on the easier sections if I worked it slow, and after the second round of changes I could get across most areas with only a few stops. Yesterday I was able to go up, down, and across it at will with no problem and it's no longer a challenge to the truck.

Yesterday I put in the Rooster Crawler esc/motor combo and that makes a huge difference. Having the strong brakes and instant reverse is a real benefit, much more than I would have expected. The motor runs cool where the stock was actually smoking before... literally had smoke coming out of the holes  The tires are softening up some, but I can see that real crawler tires will be a huge improvement.

I spent more than two hours outside with it yesterday, running a 2s 6000mAh lipo and it only took about 1200 mAh to peak it afterwards. I'm going to go with a smaller pack to reduce weight, since runtime is not an issue with a 55t motor. I took a walk through a neighborhood park, just walking behind the truck and looking for challenges. Found some nice areas, some I could handle and some I couldn't.

I'll be bringing it out next time we get together if anyone wants to try it out. I was unsure of how I would like crawling since it's just so slow, but there is a level of challenge and acomplishment that comes with it that I really like.

That's cool. I have been into rc crawling since getting into rc. That's why I got an emaxx in the first place. The emaxx isn't a crawler per say but what do I know.

I had my brother making me a custom chassis a while back but I called him off because my interest changed. If you guys are going to get into now I may try to get one going. I've already got the XL Moabs.  Cheesy
