Haha that is awesome - really first class!

Does this mean you get to run practice laps when you are supposed to be working?
And I was wondering about some sort of barrier, otherwise that track looks like an ankle buster deluxe!

Thus the last pic.... we're going to lay that tubing around the track.

Can't wait to hit it. Hopefully have the car ready by Friday. Either way, I'm off next weekend. Ooh, actually off Thurs, fri, sat, and sun.

We could post this abroad and maybe get 50 or 60 people per weekend

Hot Dogs, Nacho's, Pizza, etc.

How are the restroom's?

j/k of course.

The track looks great !!!,  as well as dangerous   Did the sand in the paint provide the grip you were looking for? Cajun & I drove around on the floor behind the driver's stand at CRC and traction is non-existent.

I know you have had to put in just a couple of laps already. I bet you are there right now racing around like a madman.

Just curious, what area of your shop is that in?

It really does look well done.

I've already put in a couple of laps, it's a blast. It came out great! They were 99% done when I left there earlier, but with all the tape up and the stripes finished it looks really cool. Thanks you guys....

Anyone want to buy two mini offroaders? I'm gonna have to get a pan car now.   I'm thinking it's gonna be a BL Scalpel...

A few things...

Restrooms very clean.

Track has right amount of traction. Sand in paint did the trick. Not sure how it will hold up but for now, we're learning.

I'm looking at a RC18R, how does that differ from a Scapel?

I've put in a few laps.

Cya'll tomorrow.

18R is a 4wd, basically a small touring car. The Scalpels are 2wd pan cars, like the nascars at the oval in rock hill, of the carpet 12 scalers. Very simple, verrrry fast. Oh, usually the scalpels run on 4 cells, though they make a 6 cell chassis as well. I'll call you when I get mine in.

I put a post up at CRC forums on the TRD subforums. A bunch of guys used to run Scalpels out there, and now the track is closing, so they may be dumping their gear. I already have one guy that PM'd me to say he is selling his entire Scalpel setup. Unless it's trashed, I'm going to buy him out.

If I get any more replies I'll let you guys know, they look like the cheese for road course racing, particularly on a narrow track. I'm pretty psyched about getting one  Cool

Also, do any of you guys know a Les Porter? He runs www.rcglowplugs.com and I read some of his blogs. He is in Charlotte, and a big carrier of X-Ray products. They have some 1/18 kits and RTR sets that are cheaper than anywhere online I found. The M18 is a touring car design that comes in RTR with radio and all for under $200. Their M18T and M18MT (Truck and Monster Truck) look sweet too.

Here is their pro setup kits that come with the upgrades included. Looks fun.. but the one that I know some of you will drool over is their NT M18T. It's a Nitro (!!) powered 1/18 truck and monster truck setup.

Or how about a Nitro 1/18 touring car? The Xray NT18..

For $250 comes with everything but transmitter and receiver, includes a start box.

Yeah, I'm all over the place. I filed my taxes last night and have a good return coming, it's got me going crazy

See you guys tomorrow!

I'd be interested in buying out a used set up myself.

Yep got some laps in myself with Marks Rusty. Track is good to go!! I took several tire combos down there this afternoon.. I will let you guys decide what will work best for you.. I just finished seting all my cars up.. Hope it works well.. similar set up to what i ran at SPCC in the parking lot.. Except a lil stiffer on the shocks..

See you fellas tomorrow.. Looks like the snow has stopped so Im sure it will be a lil slick so be careful.. Its a lot easier to replace an a-arm on a rc car than a real one!!

But then I'd have to close down the bodyshops and open a full time RC place.

 Cool

I got it down pretty low.

I'm sure a big ole MT still wouldnt fair well at Mark's "new" indoor track.

Unless there is a MT truck class  Tongue
