KEEP UP THE FIRE

« on: January 04, 2010, 09:20:02 PM »

So Anyone planning on any getting any New RC's this year? Or starting any builds?

I'll start Tongue As soon as I finish building and setting up my 2 MOA's. I plan on doing one more , so I'll have one for both my boys  Wink, a 6th scale- Scale build around the New Bright hummer top I have a drag car/dragster of some sort and finally a Puller.
I'm sure a few other things will slide into the stable throughout the year but that's what I'm working on so far  Cool

Im going to try my hand at flying again. Going to steer clear of heli's though, to many variables. I wish I would have snapped a few picks of the pile I picked up( free as well). Its a Carl Golderg 10 dash 300S bi-plane. This things is much bigger than I thought it would be. Has a 4.5 foot wingspan. I will try to remember to snap a few picks of it soon, and as the little things get repaired/replaced, (I say little things like the wings being pretty much rebuilt are easy...lol). As of now, the only things I know i need right off, are a TX/RX (hence the post in the trade section), and a servo, which I have plenty of. The motor was in sad sad shape, but was easily fixed with a tear down. There were tuber wasps that decided to make the nose piece, and a couple spots inside the body a home...lol. Rusty linkages, on and on, yadda yadda. Considering it sat in a tin shed with no doors for 3 years though, its not as bad as I thought. At least moisture didnt get to the wood to drastically.

My pappy used to build and fly planes when I was a kid. He crashed alot of them too. Mostly trying to land on pavement.

Bill,

What size is the prop on that? I have 2 here at the house brand new Master Airscrews that would probably fit it. You can have them if you need them.. Let me know or give me a call

Nice... good luck with the flying... I told myself "if I were to make it air born, it better be only a few feet up and then back on the ground for the rest of the time" lol in other words jumping was about as far as I would take an RC.  Wink

I regret (or should i say happy) to say, I gave up on the plane. A guy I know, used to build and fly, and hasnt been into the hobby for quite some time, so I passed it on to him.
