Okay so the Axial .28 Spec 1S I have has been running great for a while now. But two days  ago I started it with much difficulty and it kept revving up and then dieing when trying to idle. I'm not sure even where to begin. I am going to seal the rear plate and the carb neck to see if that helps. Can anyone else give me any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the front bearing isn't sealing anymore and it's causing it to lean out and die... It's off the truck now and I'd be willing to offer up a little cash to anyone who can get it running correctly again.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Was there any oil around the back of the flywheel? That's a sure sign there's a leaky front bearing.

There was a slight amount behind it and also below the flywheel on the chassis top plate. What's aggrivating is that I don't have hardly any of the right allen wrenches to work on this thing so I got as far as removing the motor from the chassis... Guys at HobbyTown want 25-30 bucks just to tune it. I need someone to put a new front bearing in it since I can't take the flywheel/clutch off myself. I have no ****ing idea what to do...

Go get yourself a set of allens from a parts store that include 1mm 1.5mm & 2mm. Then tear into it. It's simple to do once you can get in there.

Got the carb and roto start removed and I fixed the settings on the carb. Now I'm working on getting the head/back plate/clutch off of it so I can fully disassemble it and bake the block in the oven to remove the front bearing.

It's odd, there isn't ALOT of grease/oil behind the flywheel so I'm wondering if that could be excess dripping from the carb?

A good set of allen wrenches make work a pleasure. I paid $32 for the set that I have used for probably over 2 years now.

Sealing it up tomorrow, removing the primer from the tank too. Going to put it all back together and see how that does.

If not it's getting put up for sale or trade. Anyone want it?

Whole truck... I'd really like to trade it for two cheaper nitro Monster trucks that I can work on a little and have for my family to run with me. Maybe some older version Savages, T-Maxxes, MGTs, etc...

Got the back plate off of the Axial. I'm going to clean it up tonight and add some RTV sealant to it.

On another note, I tore the rear end of the Savage completely apart. Got it completely cleaned up tomorrow I'm going to get some grease for the differentials since they were BONE DRY! Any suggestions for diff fluid for inside the diffs?
