I have the old E-Maxx and I am planning on hopping it up some. I have been looking at Kershaw Design stuff and he has some things I differently want to get. But there is one thing I really want to replace on the Old Maxx that I can't seem to find. I want to replace the plastic shafts for metal ones that connect between the diff and wheel. Thus far this all I could find from Rc Monsters site: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=RCMdiffshaft&cat=17

The problem I see with this is that it is in the list with hop ups for the new E-Maxx. What advice you all may have? I'm stumped.

Use some Revo or 3.3Maxx shafts instead of the metal ones. They're much easier to find, cheaper and you can cut down the length if need be to make a custom length shaft. You will ne too upgrade your wheel hibs to 3.3, but you can usually find all of it pretty cheap on Ebay. I think it cost me $30 to upgrade my Maxx to 3.3 shafts.

Yeah, they should handle the torq just fine from a brushless. My Revo 3.3 conversion has never had a problem with the shafts.

That's good to know. Are or were your center shafts metal or plastic?

Centers are the stock 3.3 plastic too on my Revo. They're starting to get a little sloppy, a little slack in the yokes, but they have held up for 2+ years.

okay, that's kewl. The only thing is my shafts have been thrown out twice. Once I was WOT into a garden and the other I know for sure was not good and that was going reverse then hitting forward. Yeah, it killed the rear diff but made a hell of a double reverse flip.  Shocked I will deffenetly be more careful but I do want to upgrade this thing to BL when I get the $$$.

That's the stock shafts. The 3.3s are quite a bit beefier, I'd be suprised if you could blow those out. I've had zero problems with shafts on the Revo and I have beat the snot out of it.

I must agree.

Wanna see a comparison?

These are the Traxxas centers on an E-Maxx I built for my son (since sold):

Here are my centers: Thats a MIP front and then an extended dogbone for my extended chassis. RCMonster Mike can make dogbones any length you like I believe.
