What kind of brushless?

Been trying to get some info out of the guys on RCnitrotalk.com about what kind of brushless set up would be best for the slash. One guy had started a new thread and was asking about the same thing. They constantly are praising the CC mamba or the next step down the sidwinder. Yes I know that Castle Creations is a good product but DAYUM! They be in the high price range. I am not saying that I will never want to race my slash with brushless (if there is a class out there) but you never know. I also have thought about the Velenion VXL set up but there seems to be some criticism there... but nothing like it's a bad product to break down just that it is limited on programing (which doesn't bother me at the moment) and that it's.... TRAXXAS!
Just thought I'd ask you guys sense you guys happen to be local and experienced.

I put a Mamba Max with a 5700 Mamba motor in mine and love it. CC Mamba's are actually on the low end price wise when you start talking brushless set ups. I love 'em myself, I have several of different sizes, and they have all worked great for the price. I run a Mamba 25 in my Mini-T, I have 3 Mamba Max controllers and a couple of motors in various trucks and I have a Sidewinder in my crawler.
If you really want to talk brushless, head over to rc-monster.com and their forums, those guys are the brushless/electric experts.

I heard on a lot of forums that the CC Sidewinder and VXL motor are a good combo, so i'm going to try it out myself. I just need the ESC now.

The original Mamba Max is the best speed control on the market.
