Slash racing with no visable antenna

It's possible that I can't see half of the Traxxas Slashes antennas on youtube do to compresion but I was wondering it. Do you guys race them with them not in the tube or are they always up?

Some have switched from the traxxas tq system to a spektrum and the antenna is much shorter.

I have run several vehicles with Traxxas r/x AND the antenna mounted under the body.
I'm doing it on my E-Revo right now. I have run my Bling-Maxx that way for many many many months now.
Knock on wood, I've no range issues at all.

You mean the Spektrum radios? The DX3.0s have come way down in price so I would bet you could get set up for $100 to $150.
